City Council meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of every month. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m.
The type of business you want to operate in your home will determine if you are allowed to conduct your business at your residence. You will need to fill out a Business License Application and Home-Based Business Questionnaire. Business Licenses must be renewed every year. Your Home-Based Business Permit is filled out one time only unless the location changes or the type of business you are engaged in changes. Yes. You can register to vote at City Hall during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Mayor is elected by the qualified voters of the City to serve a 4-year term. A Council Member from each ward shall be elected to serve staggered 4-year terms.
The City of Republic holds a general election each April, according to the schedule published by the Missouri Secretary of State. For the election to be held in April, candidate filing begins mid-December and closes mid-January. A notice of filing dates is published in the Greene County Commonwealth, City of Republic Facebook page, and at republicmo.com at least 2 weeks prior to sign-up. Each Candidate wishing to file for office must appear in person to the City Clerk and fill out the candidate declaration form.
