Opening Night at The Amp Tomorrow!

Republic Parks & Recreation will open its third season at The Amp on Friday, April 22nd. Join us for an evening of fun with activities starting at 6:30 p.m. including face painting and balloon art by Spangle and Daisy Mae, family games, and storytime with the Republic Branch Library. At 7:00 p.m., the Dickerson Park Zoo will present their live show "Animals of Africa". Finally, at 7:45 p.m.The Lion King will be shown on the big screen!

The Amp, located within J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines in Republic), features permanent seating for 500+, lawn and mulch viewing areas, a 20’ x 65’ performance stage, a 15’ tall on-stage truss system, a 16’ x 10’ movie screen, and much more.

Tot Academy Registration Now Open

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department is offering a new session of Tot Academy beginning on Friday, May 6^th! Each four-week session of Tot Academy is themed and will include lessons, story time, activities, crafts and a snack. The theme for the next session is “Let’s Go Camping”! Classes are held on Friday mornings for toddlers ages 2-5. Two class times are available; 9:30-10:30 a.m. and 10:45-11:45 a.m. (maximum of six toddlers per class); the cost is $20.00 per toddler. One parent/guardian is required to stay in the classroom with their child. This session will run through Friday, May 27^th. Pre-registration with payment is required. Republic Aquatic Center Program Registration

The Republic Aquatic Center is accepting registrations for Swimming Lessons, Party Packages, and Facility Rental Reservations. All program registrations and facility reservations can be completed at the Republic Community Center, located at 711 E. Miller Road, until the Republic Aquatic Center opens on Saturday, May 28. Payment is required at the time of all registrations. Those wishing to purchase Season Passes for the 2016 season can do so at the Season Pass Night on Friday, May 27 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Republic Aquatic Center. Sign Up for Summer Adult Co-Ed Softball

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department will be offering a Summer Adult Co-Ed Softball league. Team registrations will be accepted through Friday, May 6 (or until the maximum of 16 teams has been reached). Games begin on Wednesday, May 18; all games will be played on Wednesday evenings at the Bervin White Memorial Baseball/Softball Complex located within Miller Park at 711 E. Miller Road. Private Tennis Lessons Available

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department is offering private tennis lessons again in 2016. Lessons will be available on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons beginning in April through September. One-hour time slots are available at 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. The fee is $25.00/hour for an individual or $30.00/hour for two people participating in the lesson together.

Private lessons will be instructed by Kevin Daugherty; Kevin is a former U.S. Professional Tennis certified instructor! Lessons are open to youth and adults, from beginners to more experienced players! To register for lessons, stop by the Republic Community Center located at 711 E.
