The Youth Garage Sale gives youth the chance to sell their things and earn some extra spending money, while also giving adults a chance to do some Christmas shopping! Registration is open through November 5 and can be completed online at recdesk.republicparks.com (under Community Programs) or at the Republic Community Center. |

Bundle up and join us for the Reindeer Run 5K on Friday, December 4! The race will begin at 7:00 p.m. at J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines) in Republic. The out-and-back course will take runners down main street before leading them back to the park for hot cocoa, coffee, and snacks. Awards for division and overall winners will take place at The Amp at 8:00 p.m. Race fees are $25.00 per participant or $17.00 per participant with the donation of an unwrapped children’s gift. Come enjoy breakfast and meet Santa and Mrs. Claus! Breakfast with Santa will be held on Saturday, December 5 with three time options: 8:00-9:00 a.m., 9:30-10:30 a.m., and 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Tickets are $3.00 per person and must be pre-purchased. Seating capacity will be limited to 100 people per time slot and only one family will be seated per table. Breakfast will include pancakes and sausage. Activity boxes will be available for each child. A socially distant photo opportunity will be available with Santa & Mrs. Claus. Photo prints are $1.00 each if taken by our photographer. Registration for Winter Boys' Basketball runs through Friday, November 20. Leagues are available for those in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Games will begin January 4, 2021. Team and individual registration is available online at recdesk.republicparks.com (under Youth Sports). All players will need to register regardless of whether they need to be placed on a team or not. Placement on a team cannot be guaranteed and will be dependent on the number of volunteer coaches.

This eight-week instructional basketball league for players age 4 and 5 years old is the perfect place for your little one to start their basketball journey. Enjoy the combination of skills training, game play, and of course fun! Each weekly session will include a 30 minute practice where referees and coaches will help your player learn the fundamentals using the provided warm-up games. Immediately following the practice session, teams will have the chance to show off their skills as they play a 30 minute game. All new Futsal Open Gym will be held on Monday evenings starting November 16. Futsal is a variation of soccer that is played indoors on a gym court with a special weighted soccer ball to limit bouncing. It is the perfect opportunity to keep perfecting your soccer skills all winter long. Invite your friends and join us for pick up play each Monday evening. Youth age 9-13 years will play from 7:15-9:00 p.m. The cost is $2 per person. |

Make plans now to ensure that your kids have something fun to do over Winter Break! Registration is now open for School's Out Program. The program is available for kids ages 6 (or in kindergarten) through 12. Activities are planned to ensure a fun-filled day for the children. A sack lunch and a snack are required each day. The cost of the program is $25 per child per day. Payment is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable. A minimum of 10 children must be registered 48 hours prior to each date in order to run the program. The dates available are December 23, 28, 29, 30, 31 and January 4. It's time for another Pickleball Tournament! Join us Wednesday, November 18 at the Republic Community Center for a mixed doubles tournament with divisions for beginner, intermediate, novice, and 60+. Cost is only $30/team. Register over the phone by calling 732-3500 or in person at our front desk by November 16.

In July of 2014, The City of Republic officially opened and dedicated the Republic Veterans Memorial to all those men and women who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. The memorial is located within J.R. Martin Park at the entrance of The Amp (300 E. Hines).
Bricks are once again on sale and all bricks purchased by November 30 will be placed within the memorial in the spring of 2021. Citizens may purchase 4” x 8” bricks as an everlasting tribute to a past, present, or future veteran dear to you. The $100 donation will purchase a personalized brick that is engraved. Every person who orders a brick also receives a mini replica of their brick as a keepsake. Additional funds raised by the sale of bricks will be used to further improve the memorial.
