MUNICIPAL ELECTION APRIL 2024

On January 11, 2024, City Council voted in favor of placing several items on the April 2, 2024 municipal election ballot. More information on these ballot questions can be found below. 

In addition to the ballot questions approved by City Council, the ballot also includes the election of one (1) Mayor and eight (8) City Council members.

Mayor and City Council Seats

On April 2, 2024, residents of Republic will be asked to vote on one (1) Mayor and eight (8) City Council members. City Council candidates are placed on each ballot by Ward. Click here to find your Ward.

HISTORY

On November 8, 2022, voters in the State of Missouri approved Amendment 3.  Amendment 3 allows local governments to impose an additional sales tax not to exceed 3% on all tangible personal property retail sales of adult use marijuana (non-medical) sold in such political subdivision.  

PROPOSITION G

On January 11, 2024, City Council voted in favor of Ordinance No. 23-63 placing an additional 3% marijuana sales tax on the April 2, 2024 ballot. Proceeds collected would be distributed to the General Fund of the City of Republic.
